Frequently Asked Questions

How does browser-based email validation work?

Email Validator checks each address in your browser with an RFC 5322 style syntax test, then queries public DNS-over-HTTPS resolvers (Cloudflare and Google) to confirm the domain has MX mail servers. It also compares the domain with a disposable email blacklist and suggests fixes for common typos. Your list is never uploaded to our servers.

What is a disposable email address?

A disposable (temporary) email address is a throwaway inbox from services like Mailinator or 10MinuteMail that expires quickly. These addresses inflate list size, hurt engagement metrics and should usually be removed from marketing lists.

How to reduce email bounce rates before sending newsletters?

Remove duplicates, fix syntax errors and typos, delete domains without MX records, drop disposable addresses, and use double opt-in for new subscribers. Validating your list before every campaign keeps hard bounces low and protects sender reputation.

Can this tool check if an email exists for free?

It verifies that the address is well formed and that its domain can receive mail. It does not open an SMTP connection to confirm a specific mailbox, because browsers cannot do that and doing so can be unreliable, so a passing result means deliverable domain, not a guaranteed inbox.

Is my email list private?

Yes. Lists are processed in memory in your browser. Only the domain name (never the full address) is sent to a public DNS resolver for the MX lookup, and you can turn MX checking off for fully offline validation.
